Project collaboration paves the way for recycled plastic in Danish industry.

Arla, Aage Vestergaard Larsen and Ikadan have cooperated with FORCE Technology in recent years to carry out the project Production Denmark in order to produce Arla’s familiar green milk crate from recycled plastic, with a result that is far better than initially anticipated.

The success criterion and the starting point for the project was that about 25% of the raw material could be replaced with recycled plastic, but it has been found that it is possible to produce crates with a much higher proportion of recycled plastic without compromising the basic requirements for the product.

Project partner Aage Vestergaard Larsen recently delivered the first batch of raw materials to be used for the production of new milk crates of recycled plastic.

On 16 December 2014, the company received a visit from Arla and from the government’s environmental committee. Among other things, they were provided with an opportunity to see Denmark’s first integrated production line for the washing and sorting of waste plastic designed primarily to reprocess plastic from the building and construction industry and from the business and retail sectors.
