Norske Plastinor AS produces the intelligent litter bin, which is primarily manufactured from waste from Norwegian households.
The litter bin consists of 50% flakes of household waste, 30% recycled powder for rotational moulding from us and 20% virgin plastic.
In the event it gets damaged, it can be recycled over and over again because the material composition is of the same type of plastic.
Nystrøm Design, together with Plastinor, has been nominated for Avfall Norges’ Innovation Award 2020.
The litter bin has so far run as a test and it clearly shows the way forward! The bin can also be equipped with a chip which via a software program tells when it needs to be emptied, so that unnecessary CO2 is not used in emptying a bin that is only half full. In addition, the chip notifies whether the litter bin has toppled or if it is on fire.
