COMPOUNDING

Compounding is the process by which substances can be added for the purpose of altering the physical and chemical properties of the polymer. The main categories of additives are fillers (e.g. chalk), mechanical reinforcement agents (e.g. glass fibres), other polymers, plasticisers (e.g. diethylhexyl phthalate, DEHP), pigments, antioxidants, lubricants, vulcanising agents and fire retardants.

The compounding process is used to achieve a product with significantly modified properties.

Compounding plant

The compounding is carried out in our double-screw compounding plant. We can therefore offer compounding of thermoplastic with the customer’s desired materials added, such as chalk, talcum and BaSO4.
